I contacted Mike about my pension after looking at listings of financial advisors on the Which website. I was impressed with him from the start because his focus was very much the client. I soon met him again with my husband as we decided we were interested in Mike reviewing all our finances and emerging plans for retirement. Mike's focus was on understanding us as people and our needs. I found this most refreshing after rather different experiences with other financial advisors. We cannot speak highly enough of Mike Lloyd of The Clifton Business Consultancy. We are a family run business where the two closest to retirement had a collection of very small pension pots which amounted to not very much at all individually. As time was ticking by we asked Mike if there was anything we do to achieve a better pension for ourselves in a short period of time and also make arrangements for our two sons who had no pensions at all. We were delighted when Mike demonstrated how we could put together all our existing pensions to create a new family/business executive pension scheme and as an added bonus we were able to purchase our business premises via the new scheme. I approached Clifton Business Consulting as I was approaching my 55th birthday, to gain independent general financial advice and to specifically assess my pension options, given the newly introduced pension reforms. I had been contacted by a number of other organisations, but it was fairly clear that their goal was to purely capitalise on the new reforms and I found their terms and operating style unattractive.

I met with Bob, who came across as a genuine and very knowledgeable professional.
